Version 8 is our most significant release to date. Beside more than 100 small improvements (such as, e.g., "quick time-tracking"), the new version provides major new, enterprise-level functionality such as improved document management and customizing features as well as new optional modules.
Beside document and link attachments on the activity-level, Onepoint Project 8 now also provides a separate document vault per project that allows you to create folders for structuring information. This provides you with a 360-degree view of your projects.
We believe that software has to adapt to enterprises and not vice-versa. This is why we added custom types and fields for all major business objects in the project repository: Create custom fields for projects, portfolios, resources, pools and activities.
The Controlling-Cycle Option provides you with a new and effective way to make sure that regular and explicit project controlling gets really done by your project managers. The resulting controlling sheet is then associated with the project plan version in question (project compliance).
The new Checklist tool provides the project manager with a better way to manage the high-level tasks associated with a project that are not part of the project plan. To do's entered in previous releases of Onepoint Project are automatically migrated.
The Web-based versions of the new release provide many e-mail alerts in order to provide pro-active monitoring information about your projects, portfolios and resources. All alerts can be easily configured per project role (from administrator to observer).
The Skills Management Option allows you to define any number of skills and skill categories inside your project repository. You can then use these skills to find resources on the basis of their skills and experiences as well as their availability across all projects.
