Tech Specs
Onepoint Project is built on industry standards and open technology such as Java, XML and SQL. Onepoint is also designed to be cross-platform: it runs on virtually all common platforms including Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Team-oriented Project Planning
- Interactive planning across all relevant project dimensions including activity list, schedule (GANTT), work breakdown structure (WBS) and cost baseline is done completely inside the Web browser, but still comfortable and efficient like in Excel
- The strict resource management connects resource planning to project planning and controls which project managers can access what resources: Resource conflicts between projects are reduced and less synchronization effort is required
- The integrated cost baseline including automated calculation of personnel costs renders external Excel sheets for the project costs projection outdated. This decreases the administrative workload of the project manager and at the same time reduces the error risk
- The work breakdown structure (WBS) provides a very good overview of the project, and together with mandatory project templates allows you to start projects faster and at the same time, makes obeying project guidelines easier (ISO-9001)
Integrated Project Controlling
- The team oriented project progress tracking (effort, costs, and estimation of remaining effort) distributes this task among all project contributors and, thus, increases the refresh rate and the quality of the project controlling data
- Ad hoc plan-actual comparisons (effort, costs, and dates) including a simple projection provide transparency throughout the project lifecycle: Critical decisions can be made more informed and faster
- Automatically versioned project plans and schedule histories make it easier to recognize changes and to make them provable. Misunderstandings can be resolved earlier and the adherence to delivery dates gets improved
- Milestone controlling in the form of a milestone table or using the work breakdown structure speeds up project status meetings: No manual creation and comparison of milestone tables anymore and more time for discussing contents
Ad hoc Monitoring & Traffic Light Functions
- The resource utilization chart always shows what resources are how strongly utilized across all projects. Resource conflicts can be recognized and resolved early on, the utilization is increased and the risk of missing important deadlines is decreased
- The project overview including trend bars provides an overview over all projects and shows negative tendencies between degree of completion, resources, and costs early on. High risk projects are recognized faster and counteractive measures can be induced earlier
- The milestone trend analysis is automatically created on basis of the schedule history. It allows to recognize trends regarding milestone dates faster and, thus, to predict delays: The planning accuracy is increased, the risk to miss important deadlines decreases
- The project progress report including a project traffic light always shows the status of your project in the form of a professional, printable report. No additional effort is required in order to create a “presentable” document
Flexible Project Reporting
- Integrated reporting at the push of a button makes it possible that every employee is able to create reports: Key personnel is relieved, relevant information is more quickly accessible and the acceptance of the project leadership solution is increased
- Any number of customer specific reports can be transparently integrated into your Onepoint Project installation: Only up-to-date information, in the form which is right for you, makes effective and efficient project work possible
- A single, continuous, relational project database for all planning and controlling data makes comprehensive, ad hoc reporting possible: Always up-to-date plan-actual comparisons across all relevant project dimensions provide for a new level of project transparency and reduce the project risk
- External/executive reporting through an open, documented database schema increases the trust of the executive board in the project organization: Projects are becoming transparent and traceable
